The ARKids A program provides Medicaid benefits with income guidelines for families with children under age 6, and income guidelines for families with children age 6 and over. ARKids B health insurance program is for families whose income is more than the qualifying guidelines for ARKids A but within the income guidelines established for ARKids B. Families who have lost their insurance and have not been insured for six months and are not currently under an employer-sponsored program are eligible for health insurance for their children.
Adults 21-64 whose incomes are under 300% of the poverty level and have physical disabilities can qualify for the Alternatives for Adults with Physical Disabilities Program. This is a Medicaid program that provides intermediate nursing home care for those who qualify.
Arkansas also receives federal funding for Medicaid assistance programs offered through the Department of Human Services for low-income individuals and families. Those who qualify must be age 65 or older, under 19, blind, pregnant, disabled, diagnosed with cancer or living in a nursing home. Income guidelines apply.
